Sergei De Jonge Classical Brazilian

Sergei de Jonge is a Canadian guitarmaker and he puts an emphasis on building the highest possible calibre of concert classical guitars intended for the performing professional. He's known to be one of the best classical guitarmakers in the world. Innovation plays an important role in the evolution of his guitars; each is crafted to best suit the distinctive needs of the individual player. All of Sergei's guitars have an all natural traditional french polished finish. He also the man who taught Thomas Humphrey how to make an elevated fingerboard. (like on this guitar) In the past few years we've grown to know and appreciate Sergei's craftmanship, attention to detail, as well as the top-level quality Sergei puts in each and every one of the instruments he builds.

It features premium Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, a beautifully fine grained german spruce top, Indian rosewood bindings, rosewood/Maple purflings, mahogany neck with an elevated ebony fingerboard which increases access to the upper registers, all the way to the high C on the curved soundhole overhang, Schertler Classical Tuning Keys with Ebony knobs, somewhat shorter 644mm scale length, 52mm nut width, rosewood bridge, spalted maple/rosewood/maple/ebony soundhole rosette,  Rosewood heelcap and Rosewood peghead overlay.

Soundwise the guitar has amazing projection, a clear, full bodied and balanced voice with a powerful but not dominent low end, a beautiful, kindly voiced mid section and high end which can sound either almost stately or very rich, singing and harmonic depending on the way it is played. All in all as far as concert classicals go, this one is way up there on our list when it comes to both build and sound quality. Comes with a beautifull tweed case.
