Gibson J-35 Acoustic Guitar Antique Natural 2017 Model

Introduced in 1936, the J-35 was Gibson's answer to a call for a quality, handcrafted guitar with unrivalled tone and an incredible price after a period of economic disaster. This new J-35 is the modern equivalent of that original round-shoulder flat-top with Gibson's historically celebrated, full-bodied acoustic tone. Reborn for the same reasons that brought the original to the market.

The J-35 is handcrafted with solid tone woods and all the acclaimed skills of Gibson luthiers of Bozeman, Montana. The sitka spruce top and south american mahogany back and sides produce the warm, expressive tone. The short-scale neck with dovetail neck-to-body joint, attached with traditional hot hide glue, provides for smooth tonal response and easy playing.

An Antique Natural finish hand-sprayed with Gibson's signature nitrocellulose lacquer preserves the natural grain and lends a clean, modern look, while enhancing the guitar’s resonance. A unique fire stripe pick guard, multi-ply top binding and soundhole rosette, and a Gibson script and banner logo make it easy to distinguish the J-35 in the family of round-shoulder dreadnoughts. Equipped with a Baggs Element EAS pickup, the J-35 is a go-to favourite for vocal accompaniment on stage or in the studio.
The J-35 is a powerful and warm, yet clear sounding slope shoulder jumbo with amazing looks. Included Gibson hard case.

While the Gibson J-45 is the most popular guitar in the acoustic guitar lineup its predecessor the J-35 arguably has stronger projection with its X bracing pattern and 30's style design. If the J-45 is a powerful and warm all round the J-35 has a slightly brighter sound the travels a bit further even though it uses the same materials. Originally designed as an inexpensive flattop this guitar is a great choice with fingerpicking styles and people who don't want to rely on electronics everywhere they go.

The J-35 is handcrafted exclusively from solid tone-woods, Sitka spruce and mahogany. Featuring vintage 1930s advanced X- bracing pattern resulting in outstanding projection. The 2017 J-35 is the modern equivalent of that original round-shoulder flat-top with Gibson's historically celebrated, full-bodied acoustic tone.
