Rudolph Blazer SJ Southern Jumbo 1989

An early SJ Steelstring Southern Jumbo made in 1989 by the legendary Rudolph Blazer, most well known for Blazer & Henkes guitars. Rudolph Blazer started his career as a luthier in 1971 as an apprentice with one of the well-established guitar manufacturers of Germany. After gaining experience through years of repair work he opened his own shop in Stuttgart. In 1980 he moved to the town of Tuebingen, concentrating on the serial production of traditional steel string guitars. This 1989 Southern Jumbo model features beautiful flamed maple back and sides with a spruce top, mahogany neck, full body sunburst finish, bound ebony fretboard with split parallelogram inlays and a nearly flat radius, ebony bridge, multiple bound top and replacement gold tuners. A very mature sounding SJ with a nice warm, full, and lovely balanced character. Playability is top notch, this guitar has certainly stood the test of time and passed with flying colors. Condition is excellent with some nice weather checking, expected playwear and signs of use, the endpin hole was enlarged and filled in. Includes hardshell case. Consignment.
