1959 Silvertone by Danelectro U1 Sears model 1304

These guitar were made by Danelectro, under the brand name Silvertone and they were sold by Sears, and was enlisted in their catalogue as the Silvertone 1304. It's part of Danelectro's U1 line, its single lipstick pickup indicates that. The guitar used to have a clear brown sparkle finish, which has faded over the years, but if you look closely its actually a brown sparkle finish.  This is the "coke-bottle" headstock model with a lipstick pickup. The guitar is all original except for the two pots and hardcase. The guitar is made circa 1959,its hard to date due to the replaced pots

Over the years this Silvertone 1304 has had a professional refret, and it is currently equipped with medium frets which enhances the playability. The string height is easy to adjust with three screws and could be easily converted to a slide guitar. It is a bolt on neck with dot inlays on a tropical rosewood fretboard, and it also has a tropical rosewood saddle on top of its aluminium bridge. The three-on-a-plate open back tuners with plastic knobs are in a good working condition. The sparkle brown finish, white tolex side binding, tuners, and Bakelite knobs all contribute to the vintage vibe. The guitar is in an excellent vintage condition and has its obvious playwear for a guitar older than 50 years. The guitar has light scratching and small lacquer chips here and there all over, the neck lacquer has been faded on the sides because it has been played. On the top you will find some string change rash, and one dent on the treble side, and a smaller one on the lower bout bass side. The overall condition for this rare vintage guitar is excellent and it has a lot of character!
