This Beard Decophonic Squareneck Model 57 brings 1930s Art Deco flair to a handbuilt, modern squareneck resonator. Finished in satin Tobacco Sunburst over a Finnish birch body with ivoroid binding, it pairs classic looks with the bright, cutting voice of a single-cone spider resonator; built for lap-style slide and bluegrass.

Beard Guitars, founded by master luthier Paul Beard in Maryland, is one of the most respected names in the resonator world and the maker of choice for players like Jerry Douglas. The Decophonic series channels the golden age of resonator design in the 1930s, when Art Deco styling and single-cone "spider" resonators defined the sound of Hawaiian and country music. The Model 57 revives that heritage with today's build quality, pairing vintage-correct looks with the consistency of a contemporary Beard instrument.

The single-cone spider bridge and brass coverplate give this squareneck its powerful projection and the woody, barking midrange that lap-slide players love. The square maple neck holds the strings high above the flat Morado fingerboard, making it ideal for Dobro-style slide work in open tunings. A built-in Fishman Nashville pickup lets you plug straight into an amp or PA while keeping that acoustic character intact, and the Gotoh tuners keep everything stable and in tune.
