The Collings 002H 14-Fret offers the perfect balance between compact comfort and a rich, expressive sound. As part of the Mid-Sized guitars in the Collings range, this body shape combines the projection of a medium-sized guitar with the intimate resonance of a smaller instrument. The result is an acoustic guitar with its own distinctive voice and exceptional dynamics.

This 002H has a substantial number of additions to its name, and naturally, they all have a meaning. For instance, the guitar features an Adirondack spruce top, is part of the Traditional Series, and is finished with a Satin lacquer.

The Collings Traditional Series represents a vintage-inspired variation on the signature Collings sound. The guitars are distinguished by a lightweight construction in which tonewood is hand-selected for weight and resonance, and subsequently crafted by hand into a powerful, balanced, and clear instrument. The adjustments to the bracing and adjustable T-bar truss rod, among others, further contribute to the warm, rounded highs, the pronounced midtones, and the open sound, not least due to the very thin nitrocellulose lacquer layer that allows the guitar to vibrate optimally.

The Collings 002H adapts effortlessly to various playing styles; both the seasoned fingerstyle guitarist and the versatile strummer can handle this guitar. From the very first strum, the 002H reveals a warm, balanced midrange with impressive definition in the low end, unprecedented for an instrument of this size. The dry, articulated attack adds clarity and nuance, allowing every note to cut effortlessly through the mix. The shorter scale length of 632 mm and the relatively wide waist ensure an open and responsive sound, with a delicate top-end that supports both subtlety and power.

This 2024 Collings has only minimal wear on the pickguard and is otherwise virtually indistinguishable from a new guitar. The materials used are of the very highest quality, and the finish will make any enthusiast's mouth water. It is not without reason that these guitars do not stay in our shop for long; once you have played a Collings, you won't want anything else!
