Collings D1 Traditional 2016

The Collings D1T is one of the many Collings guitars that makes the heart beat faster. It is not without reason that these guitars do not stay in our store for long; once you have played a Collings, you won't want anything else!

The Collings Traditional Series represents a vintage-inspired variation on the signature Collings sound. The guitars distinguish themselves through a lightweight construction in which hand-selected tonewood is chosen for weight and resonance, and subsequently crafted by hand into a powerful, balanced, and clear instrument. Additionally, adjustments to the bracing and adjustable T-bar truss rod, among other things, contribute to the warm, rounded highs, the pronounced midtones, and the open sound, not least due to the ultra-thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish that allows the guitar to vibrate optimally.

A special addition to the guitar is the exceptionally beautiful and high-quality Collings Traditional case in which the guitar is delivered. In his pursuit of perfection, Bill Collings wanted the best case for his guitars and decided to design and build it himself. As befits Collings, only the finest materials were used for this, and these cases are therefore a perfect fit for the respective body shape; not a single millimeter inside the case has been left unused! From the lining on the inside and outside to the latches, every detail exudes absolute quality.

This Collings was built in 2018 and is in very good condition. There are various signs of use on the top; pick scratches on both sides of the soundhole and near the pickguard, with a few dings, including a substantial one behind the bridge. Some buckle wear can be found on the back of the body, and there are also some small dents on the back of the neck and the headstock. Finally, there is a small lacquer chip on the treble side of the nut.

The guitar is further equipped with Waverly Dark Tortoise bridge pins and strap buttons, and forms a beautiful set with the aforementioned case. With this combination, you bring home the best of the best, so don't hesitate too long!

This instrument has been carefully inspected for originality, condition and playability, then set up to our Gold Standard by a luthier. We make sure it arrives in your hands exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.
