Collings D1 Traditional Vintage Satin 2024

The Collings D1 Traditional is a dreadnought that strips the great American flat-top back to its purest form. Part of Collings' acclaimed Traditional Series, it pairs classic pre-war inspiration with the flawless craftsmanship that has made Collings one of the most respected names in acoustic guitars.

Built around a solid sitka spruce top and solid Honduran mahogany back and sides, the D1 delivers the dry, punchy and wonderfully balanced voice that mahogany dreadnoughts are loved for. The Traditional Series uses a lightweight build with scalloped X bracing, giving an open, responsive tone with plenty of volume and headroom. The vintage satin finish is thin and beautifully worn-in from the very first note, letting the top breathe freely.

A Honduran mahogany neck with a comfortable V profile and an ebony fingerboard makes for a fast, familiar playing feel, while details such as tortoise binding, multi-line purfling and relic nickel Waverly tuners give it an understated, vintage-correct look. A K&K Pure Mini pickup has been installed, so the guitar is ready to be plugged in and heard on any stage. From driving bluegrass rhythm to warm fingerstyle, this D1 responds to everything you give it.

This 2024 Collings is in excellent condition. It has picked up some playwear in the form of a few scratches and dents on the neck, and the neck has started to gain a light shine, as has the spot where the forearm rests on the body, which is completely normal on a satin finished guitar. There are also some scratches on the top under the low E string. Despite all this it still presents clean, and it comes supplied in a case with a TFOA Passport.

This guitar has been carefully inspected for condition and playability, then set up to our Gold Standard by a luthier. We make sure it arrives in your hands exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.
