Daguet Crestwood Custom Cherry 2014

This Daguet Crestwood Custom is a beautifully executed tribute to the classic early-'60s double-cutaway, finished in a deep, glossy cherry. Handbuilt in 2014 and in excellent condition, it brings together vintage looks, mini-humbucker bite and a Bigsby vibrato in a characterful instrument that stands apart from the usual suspects.

Daguet is a boutique builder with a reputation for meticulously crafted, vintage-inspired instruments, and the Crestwood Custom is their take on the much-loved '60s Crestwood-style double-cut. The all-mahogany construction, cherry finish, Kluson tuners and Bigsby tailpiece all nod to the golden era of the original, while the level of fit and finish reflects the care of a small-shop build.

A pair of DR Mini '61 mini-humbuckers sit at the heart of this guitar. Mini-humbuckers are prized for their focused, articulate voice, brighter and tighter than a full-sized humbucker but warmer and fuller than a single coil, and here they give the Crestwood a punchy, cutting character that suits everything from jangly rhythm work to biting leads. The Bigsby vibrato and roller bridge add expressive, shimmering wobble while keeping tuning stable as you use it.

With its mahogany neck, 12" fingerboard radius and 24.75" scale, the Crestwood plays with a comfortable, medium feel that will suit players who like a slightly shorter scale. At just 3.5 kg it's light and resonant on the strap. The guitar is in excellent condition throughout and comes complete with a hardshell case.
