A world-class 5-string banjo appreciated for its clear sound with impressive highs and distinctive lows. As well as being beautiful, the Calico is exceptionally dynamic with both very powerful projection and tone, as well as being an excellent tool for all styles of music.

The heart of the Deering Calico banjo is the Deering bronze tone ring, fitting snugly to the three-ply maple rim. The Deering -06- tone ring produces a nice, balanced overtone spectrum. The weight is ideal for most styles played on the banjo. A softer touch gives endless sustain, but a powerful touch also ensures a clear 'pop' and precise tone separation.

With a brighter tone than mahogany, maple provides a deep bass response and great highs. The banjo plays from string to string and through the neck with consistent clarity and excellent volume, making it easy to hear in a band.

Comes with TFOA passport in a Deering hardshell case.
