Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition Red Hot Esquire Aged Black Relic 2025

This is a Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition Red Hot Esquire, a striking take on one of the earliest and most elemental electric guitars Fender ever made. Finished in a heavily relic'd Aged Black nitrocellulose with plenty of attitude, it looks and feels like a guitar that has been played and loved for decades.

The Esquire is the single-pickup forerunner of the Telecaster, and few guitars do more with less. Fender's Custom Shop builds on that simplicity here, pairing a light two-piece ash body, hollowed out with an f-hole for a little more air and resonance, with a chunky 52 'U' birdseye maple neck. The clever reverse control plate Esquire wiring gives you three genuinely usable voices from a single pickup, from dark and vocal to bright and biting.

At the heart of it all sits a Josefina hand-wound Red Hot Tele pickup, wound by hand by Fender Custom Shop's Josefina Campos, delivering the fat, punchy and slightly hot bridge tone this model is named for.

This 2025 example is in excellent condition. Beyond its factory-aged finish it has picked up only some light scratches, and it plays and sounds exactly as a hand-built Custom Shop Esquire should! It comes supplied in its original case with all of its original accessories.
