A Gibson Custom-inspired recreation of one of the most recognizable and beloved acoustic guitars ever made, the Dove!
In collaboration with Gibson Custom, Epiphone pays tribute to a true classic: the 1963 Dove Reissue. This model is a faithful reissue of the iconic Gibson Dove, originally introduced in 1962 and played by artists like Elvis, Tom Petty, and John Mellencamp. Featuring a solid, heat-treated spruce top and flamed maple back and sides, this reissue offers not only a classic look but also a bright, sparkling tone with surprisingly deep bass.
The Dove's distinctive look is carried through in every detail. Think of the gracefully shaped bridge with mother-of-pearl dove inlays, an iconic pickguard with a matching motif, and refined bindings around the top and back. The mahogany neck with a rounded profile feels familiar, while the bound rosewood fingerboard with split parallelogram inlays provides an elegant finish. The headstock is also an eye-catcher, with its classic open-book shape, inlaid Epiphone logo Gibson Crown, and vintage Kluson Waffleback tuners.
For the modern player, the 1963 Dove Reissue is equipped with an L.R. Baggs Element Bronze VTC system. This unobtrusive pickup and preamp deliver a naturally amplified sound that's equally impressive on stage and in the studio. The guitar comes in a deluxe Red Line hardshell case with "Inspired by Gibson Custom" branding, fitting protection for an instrument with so much character.
