Fender Custom Shop 55 Precision Bass Sunburst NOS 2006

The Precision Bass is the quintessential electric bass guitar, with a sound that has helped shape music since the 1950s. This Custom Shop model is a replica of the 1955 P-Bass and offers you a vintage look, sound, and feel, for a much lower price than an original.

This model is based on the 1955 Precision Bass, one of the first versions Fender produced. Because it is based on an early model, there are some differences compared to the P-Bass we know today. The most striking difference is the Telecaster-style pickguard, which immediately gives the bass guitar a distinctive vintage look.

The pickup is also a single-coil instead of the more familiar split-coil. Although the pickup is different, you still get that warm, woody, and clear sound you expect from a P-Bass. Other vintage details include the metal bridge and pickup covers, and the finger rest on the treble side of the bass.

This 2006 Fender bass has accumulated playing marks and dings on the body, but is certainly not yet a player-grade instrument! However, the screw holes for the chrome covers are present all around. So it is visible that the bass has been played, but overall it is still very clean for a 20-year-old instrument!
