Fender MIJ 62 Vintage Reissue Stratocaster Burgundy Mist 1990

This 1990 Fender '62 Vintage Reissue Stratocaster was built in Japan and wears the rare Burgundy Mist finish. Completely original and in excellent condition, it offers that classic early-'60s Strat experience in a colour you don't come across every day.

Fender's Japanese-built reissues from this period earned a strong reputation for their build quality and careful attention to detail, and this model is a faithful tribute to the early-'60s Stratocaster. Burgundy Mist was one of Fender's original custom colours of that era. Paired with the vintage-correct spec of this reissue, it makes for a genuinely eye-catching instrument.

This Stratocaster has remained completely original throughout its life, with no modifications or replaced parts. It shows some expected signs of use and has clearly been well looked after. The alder body carries the Burgundy Mist finish and a three-ply parchment pickguard, while the maple neck holds a slab rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays, a 7.25" radius and vintage-style tuners, all the hallmarks of the early-'60s specs.

Three Fender Alnico 5 cloth-wired single coils give this Strat its familiar voice. At just 3.54 kg it balances comfortably, and the slim '60s C neck profile fills the hand without ever feeling bulky, making this a Strat that's as easy to play as it is to enjoy.
