Fender Stratocaster Sunburst 1975

This 1975 Fender Stratocaster in Sunburst is a proper piece of 1970s Fender history. Its three colour sunburst has aged beautifully, with tons of deep red and a lovely faded yellow, and it has the look, feel and tone that keep players coming back to seventies Strats.

By the mid 1970s the Stratocaster had grown into the bold, road ready workhorse of the CBS era, with its large headstock, maple neck and hefty ash body. This example carries all of that character, from the "F" stamped tuners to the vintage six point tremolo, and at 4.5 kg it has the substantial feel and long sustain that fans of the era love.

The guitar is in excellent condition, and the finish in particular still looks superb. As a vintage instrument it has seen a few sympathetic changes along the way: the two tone pots have been replaced with DiMarzio units and the five way switch has been renewed, while the volume pot and all three single coils remain original. The bridge pickup has had its bottom plate replaced at some point, and everything works exactly as it should.

Those three original Fender single coils give this Strat that unmistakable seventies voice: glassy, chiming highs, a scooped quack in the in between positions and plenty of snap. The maple neck with its 7.25" rosewood fingerboard is nice and comfortable in the hand, delivering that classic vintage Fender playing feel. It comes with its tremolo cover, a hardshell case and a TFOA Passport.
