Fender Vibrolux Amp Blond Piggy Back Conversion 1963

This is a genuinely unusual piece of Fender history: a 1963 Fender Vibrolux that began life as a brownface combo and has since been converted into a blond Tolex piggyback. The result is a striking amp that pairs classic early-sixties Fender tone with a bold, uncommon look.

The brownface Vibrolux, built on the 6G11-A circuit, is one of the great pre-CBS Fender amps. It delivers around 30 watts through a pair of 6L6 power tubes and a GZ34 tube rectifier, with lush, pulsing tube vibrato across its two channels. Warm, touch-sensitive and musical, it is a sought-after amp for players chasing authentic vintage Fender character.

This particular amp has been thoughtfully converted from its original brown combo format into a blond-covered piggyback head. The transformers carry 1963 date codes, confirming its early-sixties origins, and the original Underwriters Laboratories factory label is still present on the chassis. It has since been serviced with a fresh set of tubes and fitted with a new Celestion 12" speaker, so it is ready to plug in and play.

All in all this is a one-of-a-kind amp: genuine 1963 brownface Vibrolux electronics and transformers, dressed in an eye-catching blond piggyback format and freshly serviced for reliable, everyday use. It comes with a TFOA Passport.
