This stunning Slope Shoulder Jumbo features the classic Gibson shape, along with the bridge, neck, pickguard and maple back and sides that have made the SJ200, also known as the “King of the Flat-Tops”, so renowned.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe idea behind this guitar was to take the exact specifications of that famous SJ200 and apply them to the smaller, more popular Gibson Slope Shoulder body shape, best known from models such as the J45, the original workhorse of countless guitarists. Combining this body shape with the moustache bridge brings to mind the rare J55, of which only 400 examples were made between 1939 and 1942.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe sound of this SJ200 Slope Shoulder wonderfully captures the character of an SJ200 while adding the subtle dynamic nuances offered by the J45-style Slope Shoulder body. A body of this size fitted with maple back and sides makes a considerable difference, delivering significantly more punch and rounded midrange tones than a mahogany guitar.
