The Explorer is undeniably one of the coolest guitars Gibson has ever made! The model exudes pure rock, and when you take this guitar onto the stage, your intentions are immediately clear: rock hard! This Gibson Faded Explorer features a mahogany body and neck with a Worn Cherry finish, a rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets, a Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop bar, and Grover Rotomatic Mini tuners. The two humbuckers each have a volume knob and can be further adjusted to your liking via a tone control and the well-known 3-way switch. The Gibson Explorer is one of the most iconic guitar shapes ever conceived, though that wasn't immediately apparent at its introduction in 1958. The futuristic body shape was so radical at the time that the general public initially didn't know what to make of it, after which production was quickly halted after only 19 units. In 1975, Gibson brought the Explorer back to the market and continues to produce it to this day.The guitar was built in 2008 and is in very good condition. The matte finish has become shiny in various places, and buckle wear can be found on the back of the body. The finish is partially worn away at three points on the body, and there are some dings on the top. This rock machine is therefore a real player! This instrument has been carefully inspected for originality, condition and playability, then set up to our Gold Standard by a luthier. We make sure it arrives in your hands exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.
