The Gibson J45 was first introduced in 1942 and has been a fixture in the Gibson lineup ever since. This completely renewed J45 Special offers a very complete package for a very attractive price!

Its versatility, simple design and understated elegance have earned it the nickname “The Workhorse.” It is one of the most recorded acoustic guitars in music history and the best-selling Gibson acoustic model of all time. Handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana by Gibson’s skilled craftsmen, the new Gibson J45 Special offers players a USA-built Gibson acoustic guitar at a very attractive price.

The J45 Special features a round-shoulder body constructed from solid mahogany for the back and sides, and a solid Sitka spruce top, reinforced with traditional scalloped X-bracing. This wood combination delivers a warm, balanced tone with excellent dynamic response, suitable for a wide range of musical styles. The body is slightly shallower than the J45 Standard, which results in a tighter, more controlled bass response. This helps the guitar sit perfectly in the mix and also makes it more comfortable to hold. The mahogany neck is attached with a traditional compound dovetail joint and glued with hot hide glue, as with all Gibson acoustic guitars. The neck has a sleek and fast Slim Taper profile, while the 12-inch radius rosewood fingerboard features simple pearloid dot inlays and 20 standard frets.

The classic belly-up rosewood bridge is fitted with a TUSQ saddle, while the nut and bridge pins are also made of TUSQ. High-quality Grover Rotomatic tuners ensure excellent tuning stability. The J45 Special is finished in a Satin Vintage Sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer. For optimal amplified performance, it is equipped with an L.R. Baggs Element Bronze under-saddle piezo pickup with active electronics and easy-to-access volume control in the soundhole. The guitar comes with a deluxe softshell case, so you can safely take it anywhere.
