Gibson SG Deluxe Flame Top Cobalt Fade 2013

The SG Deluxe name has been used by Gibson for several different models over the years, but this 2013 version is one that truly stands out. While the SG has traditionally been an all-mahogany guitar, this model received a figured maple top: a combination more commonly associated with a Les Paul.

In that sense, the Deluxe tips its hat to the elegant SG Custom, the black-tie model that once embodied Les Paul's vision of a refined guitar. The model was offered in four finishes, including this striking Cobalt Fade. Beneath the top are three '57 Classic humbuckers, Gibson's own recreation of the legendary PAF pickups, delivering a rich, creamy, and full-bodied tone.

A particularly interesting feature is the wiring. Using Gibson's clever TogPot integrated into the three-way selector switch, the middle pickup can be blended in to taste, creating tonal options that simply aren't available on a standard SG. The maple top adds extra clarity and bite to the naturally warm character of the mahogany body. The guitar is further equipped with a Bigsby vibrato and Grover locking tuners, ensuring excellent tuning stability.

This pre-owned 2013 SG has only acquired a few light surface scratches across the body, neck, and top. It remains very clean overall and is in excellent condition. Supplied with its hardshell case and TFOA passport.
