Gretsch G6136T Black Falcon 2010

This 2010 Gretsch G6136T Black Falcon is a proper showstopper. Dressed in gloss black with gold sparkle binding, gold hardware and a Bigsby, it backs up its stylish looks with the bright, chiming voice that Gretsch hollow bodies are famous for.

The Falcon first appeared in 1955 as Gretsch's ultimate flagship: a "no expense spared" guitar built to turn heads. The Black Falcon takes that same luxury and swaps the famous white for a deep black-and-gold look, and it wears it beautifully. This Japanese-made G6136T carries all the classic Falcon appointments: a fully hollow laminated maple body, a bound ebony fingerboard with neo-classic thumbnail inlays, a gold plexi pickguard and a string-through Bigsby B6CP vibrato for that signature shimmer.

At the heart of this Falcon sit two High Sensitive Filter'Tron pickups, delivering the unmistakable Gretsch character: articulate, punchy and full of jangle, with plenty of output to drive an amp when you dig in.

The thing with a black finish is that you often see every little trace of use. Luckily this Black Falcon only has some very light playwear on the body, so even with its black finish, you can tell it is still really clean. At a manageable 3.70 kg and in excellent condition throughout, it comes complete with its certificate, TFOA passport and a hardshell case.
