In his Madrid workshop, where later masters such as Santos Hernández and Domingo Esteso also learned their craft, the guitar that Ramirez gave to the then-unknown Andrés Segovia was built in 1912.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThat instrument travelled the world with Segovia and laid the foundation for his illustrious career. Wolfgang Jellinghaus, himself trained by his father and active for decades in building historically inspired guitars, pays tribute to builders such as Ramirez with his Master Built series: models built entirely by hand by a single master luthier, using carefully selected and well-seasoned tonewoods.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eFor the top, solid cedar was chosen with a traditional French Polish finish, a thin layer of shellac that allows the soundboard to vibrate freely, resulting in a warm and direct response. The back and sides are made from solid Pao Ferro and finished with a PU finish, a more durable coating that makes the guitar better suited to everyday use without compromising its tone. Pao Ferro produces a clear, focused tone that remains well balanced across the entire frequency range, without excessive emphasis on either the bass or treble.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe Fan bracing is characteristic of traditional Spanish guitar construction and contributes to a balanced, resonant tone.
