The Ken Smith Burner Hadrien Feraud E Series is a signature bass by American builder Ken Smith, developed in collaboration with French bassist Hadrien Feraud. It is designed for players looking for a modern, expressive bass with a fast response, plenty of definition and a versatile tonal palette.

This five-string bass is built in Japan by Sleek Elite under licence and supervision from Ken Smith. The model is based on the bass that Hadrien Feraud has been developing with Sleek Elite since 2008. The E Series offers a more accessible version of this design, combining Ken Smith components and electronics with a hand-built bass.

The bass is equipped with Ken Smith Jazz Bass pickups and an active three-band EQ. The controls include master volume with active/passive switching, pickup blend, and bass, mid and treble adjustment. It is a fast, responsive bass with a wide dynamic range. Its tone offers warmth and depth in the midrange, a clear top end and a strong, defined attack. This makes it well suited to technical playing, fusion, jazz, funk and situations where articulation and dynamics are essential.

This 2025 Ken Smith bass has only the most minimal scratches on the pickguard and is otherwise indistinguishable from a new instrument. This is a model you don’t come across very often!
