Lowden O32 12 String Rosewood Spruce Reneck 2001

This 2001 Lowden O32 12-String has undergone a major rescue operation: it has been fitted with a completely new neck! The original neck had a break that proved impossible to repair satisfactorily, so we ordered a replacement from Lowden and installed it with the utmost professionalism.

The O32 12-String is part of the Original Series—Lowden’s inaugural line of guitars introduced in 1976—with the 'O' model representing the original body shape. The '32' designation indicates Indian rosewood back and sides paired with a Sitka spruce top. Additionally, this O32 features understated aesthetic details: wooden purfling around the top, a rosewood headstock veneer, and an abalone rosette.

Over the years, the '32' model has become increasingly sought-after, largely due to its full yet clearly defined tone. The O32 sounds warm, rich, and articulate; the Sitka spruce top strikes a beautiful balance with the warm fullness of the rosewood. This instrument also demonstrates Lowden's mastery of 12-string guitar construction, offering excellent balance, deep lows, and crisp highs. Thanks to the K&K Trinity pickup system, this magnificent tone shines through beautifully in both studio and stage settings.

In addition to the new neck, the guitar shows some signs of play on the top, including various scratches on the bass side and a few dings on the lower bout. Otherwise, it is a well-played-in instrument with a wonderful sound, ready for many years of musical enjoyment!

This guitar has been carefully inspected for condition and playability, then set up to our Gold Standard by a luthier. We make sure it arrives in your hands exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.
