Fender Stratocaster Black 1982

This black Stratocaster is a real player's vintage instrument, put together over the years from a set of genuine Fender parts from the late seventies and early eighties. The result is a guitar with all the character and feel of a period Strat, at a price that leaves plenty of room to simply plug in and play.

The Stratocaster needs little introduction. Since 1954 it has been the blueprint for the modern electric guitar, and the examples that came out of Fender at the end of the seventies and the start of the eighties have a character all their own: a little chunkier, a little rawer, and increasingly sought-after by players who love that era. This one brings those genuine vintage parts together into a single, great-sounding instrument.

At its heart is a one-piece maple neck with the lovely worn-in feel that only decades of playing can give, bolted to a solid body in classic black. Three single coils and the traditional Stratocaster control layout deliver everything you expect: glassy, bell-like cleans, that unmistakable in-between quack and plenty of bite when you dig in. It is a wonderfully versatile guitar that feels instantly familiar the moment you pick it up.

This Stratocaster has been assembled from genuine vintage Fender parts: a 1982 body, a 1979 neck and potentiometers dated 1981, with the black single coils stamped 016730. At some point the volume potentiometer has been resoldered. It currently wears a new set of knobs, with the original knobs included, and an extra pearloid pickguard is supplied with it as well. All in all a seriously cool, genuinely vintage Strat for not a lot of money.

This guitar has been carefully inspected for condition and playability, then set up to our Gold Standard by a luthier. We make sure it arrives in your hands exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.
