This 2023 Martin Custom Shop 00018 1937 brings together the sound of Martin's Authentic Series and the everyday reliability of a true workhorse guitar. With its Adirondack spruce top, mahogany back and sides and authentic 1937 bracing, it captures the look, feel and sound of one of the finest eras in Martin's history.

Martin's 1937 models are regarded as a benchmark for acoustic guitars and have set the standard for generations of instruments that followed. The Custom Shop Expert models are available only through a select group of Martin Custom Shop Expert dealers, and they are built with time tested techniques such as hide glue and cloth strip construction. An adjustable truss rod keeps the neck stable over the years, so the guitar stays easy to set up through every season.

The Adirondack spruce top is known for its stiffness and enormous headroom, which gives the guitar plenty of volume and a lively, dynamic response that stays clear even when you dig in. The mahogany back and sides add warmth and a woody, focused midrange, and the 000 body keeps everything balanced and articulate, making it just as inspiring for fingerstyle playing as for strumming. The authentic 1937 bracing lets the top move freely, which adds resonance and that open, vintage character.

The authentic 1937 soft V neck gives the guitar a full, vintage feel in the hand, while the 24.9" scale keeps the string tension relaxed. Tortoise binding, a multi line rosette, a tortoise pickguard and abalone dots on the ebony fingerboard complete its classic, understated look.

This 2023 00018 is in excellent condition. It shows only minimal signs of play in the form of small scratches, mainly on the body and the pickguard, and there are a few tiny dings along the edges of the headstock. It comes with a hardshell case, a booklet and a TFOA Passport.
