Martin D28 Modern Deluxe 2022

This 2022 Martin D-28 Modern Deluxe pairs solid Indian rosewood back and sides with a spruce top, scalloped X-bracing and a built-in LR Baggs Anthem pickup: a dreadnought built to be plugged in and played live as easily as it's played at home. That big, articulate D-28 voice remains the star.

The D-28 has been Martin's flagship dreadnought since 1931, prized for its deep, powerful bass and famously balanced tone. The Modern Deluxe series takes that formula and updates it with Martin's Vintage Tone System: the spruce top is torrefied to mimic decades of natural aging, giving the guitar an open, already-played-in voice straight out of the case. Forward-shifted, scalloped bracing and a dovetail neck joint round out the vintage-inspired construction beneath the more contemporary details.

The Soft V neck profile gives a comfortable grip whether you're strumming open chords or working further up the neck, and with a 16-inch fingerboard radius and a familiar 1.75-inch nut width, it should feel instantly at home to players coming from other Martins. Herringbone purfling, a tortoise pickguard and a multi-stripe rosette give it that unmistakable golden-era look, while abalone diamond-and-square inlays and a rosewood headstock overlay add a touch of understated luxury. The onboard LR Baggs Anthem pickup means it's ready to plug in the moment a gig calls for it.

At first glance, it looks like this is a new guitar straight from the factory. When you look closely, you'll notice a small scratch in the lacquer on the side of the body and some minimal playwear on the top and back of the body. It is in excellent condition and even comes close to near mint. It comes in its original hardshell case with TFOA Passport.
