Morgan DR Indian Rosewood Sitka Spruce 2003

Regular price € 2.999

This hand-built Morgan DR from 2003 is the work of Canadian master builder David Iannone, combining Indian rosewood with a Sitka spruce top. Moreover, with over two decades of aging, this Morgan has only gained in character. You can hear this immediately in the open, mature sound and rich resonance.

Iannone was the last traditional apprentice of the renowned Canadian builder Jean Larrivée, and that school of thought can be found in every Morgan. The combination of Indian rosewood sides and back with a Sitka spruce top is a tried and tested recipe: the rosewood provides rich overtones and a full bass, while the spruce lends the guitar clarity and a balanced response.

Considering its age, this Morgan still looks very clean, but it does have a repaired center seam crack on the top behind the bridge. There are some dings to be found on the top, as well as light signs of wear on the body and neck. Furthermore, there are two spots of crackle on the rosette, and on the back of the body, air has gotten under the lacquer at the binding of the upper bout on the treble side. There are several dings on the headstock, and the bridge has been re-glued.

Nevertheless, this Morgan DR is a neat guitar that offers tremendous value for money!
