PRS CE24 Semi Hollow Charcoal Burst 2021

This 2021 PRS CE24 Semi-Hollow pairs the refined design PRS is famous for with a bolt-on maple neck for extra snap and clarity, all wrapped in a gorgeous Charcoal Burst over a flamed maple top. Semi-hollow, resonant and remarkably light, this one has taken on real vintage character over the years while remaining a superb-playing guitar.

The CE24, or Classic Electric, is PRS's bolt-on-neck workhorse. Combining a mahogany body with a figured maple top and a bolt-on maple neck, it delivers a brighter, snappier attack than the set-neck Custom while keeping the refined build, playability and versatility PRS is known for. The semi-hollow construction adds an extra layer of air and resonance, along with a lively, almost acoustic bloom and a featherweight feel at just 3.2 kg.

This example is in very good condition and has developed a lovely story of its own. The nitro finish has begun to crackle and check all around the body, lending it a genuinely vintage look that many players spend good money trying to fake. There are also some scratches and dings to be found around the armrest. Importantly, these are all purely visual: the guitar plays every bit as beautifully as it should.

A pair of PRS 85/15 humbuckers sit at the heart of the CE24, delivering clear, full-range tone with tight lows and sweet, extended highs. Thanks to the push/pull tone control you can split the coils for convincing single-coil sounds, making this a hugely versatile instrument. The Pattern Thin neck, 10" fingerboard radius and 25" scale make for a fast, comfortable feel, while the PRS patented tremolo and locking tuners keep everything rock-solid in tune. It comes with a gigbag.
