Santa Cruz 000 12 Fret Cedar Cocobolo 2011

Santa Cruz consistently crafts high-quality guitars in small batches, driven by a mission to provide musicians with exceptional instruments. This 000 12-fret model featuring a stunning combination of tonewoods is a prime example of that commitment.

The guitar boasts a cocobolo back and sides paired with a cedar top. It is accented by redwood binding and a matching rosette, while the ebony fretboard features an understated mother-of-pearl Santa Cruz logo at the 14th fret. The mahogany neck, shaped with a V-profile, offers a remarkably comfortable playing experience.

A cocobolo body typically delivers a deep, full bass, rich overtones, and clear articulation, characterized by abundant sustain and a complex tonal palette. The cedar top responds quickly to the player’s touch, imbuing the instrument with a warm, immediate sound, a rich midrange, and a subtle compression, making it perfectly suited for delicate fingerstyle techniques.

As the 12-fret predecessor to the OM model, the 000 stands out for both its aesthetic and its unique sonic character. Extending the body to the 12th fret results in a larger sound chamber, which provides greater volume and enhanced bass response. The slotted headstock not only lends a classic look but also reduces the mass of the neck, while the steeper string angle increases downward pressure on the nut, further boosting sustain.

With its impressive array of custom features, this 2011 Santa Cruz is an instrument that is well worth the investment! The guitar has a few very small dings on the top, along with some very light signs of play on the back of the body, the neck, and the headstock; overall, however, it is a very clean instrument that simply looks stunning!

This guitar has been carefully inspected for condition and playability, then set up to our Gold Standard by a luthier. We make sure it arrives in your hands exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.
