Thomas OO 12th CA Madagascar Rosewood Moonspruce 2021

This handcrafted Thomas 00 from 2021 combines a Madagascar rosewood body with a Moon Spruce top, proving that a compact 12-fret guitar can deliver a surprisingly full and beautifully balanced voice. It is an instrument for the fingerstyle enthusiast seeking the finest craftsmanship from South Tyrol.

Thomas Guitars is a small workshop based in Bolzano, in the Italian region of South Tyrol, and has been run by Thomas Orgler and Nikolaus Eilken since 2010. Thanks to its 12-fret neck design, the bridge is positioned slightly closer to the center of the soundboard, allowing the body to respond more efficiently and giving the guitar its characteristic warm and rounded voice.

The top is crafted from Moon Spruce, an Alpine spruce harvested at a carefully selected time, resulting in exceptional tonal properties. Combined with the Madagascar rosewood back and sides, it produces a deep and powerful bass response complemented by clear, singing trebles. The guitar is also built lightly and without excess tension, allowing it to respond effortlessly to both a delicate touch and a stronger attack.

This Thomas from 2021 shows only light superficial signs of play on the top and body, with very minimal wear on the neck. Around the cutaway, a few tiny and shallow surface dings can be found on the top. The body also displays a handful of small superficial dents here and there. Otherwise, the guitar presents exceptionally well.

It remains in excellent condition and comes complete with its original certificate of authenticity and a Jacob Winter case.
