​Volker Hörauf is a German guitar maker who builds handmade acoustic guitars with great precision and craftsmanship in Traryd, Sweden. With a background as a carpenter, wood engineer and classical pianist, he combines more than thirty years of experience in each instrument. After an apprenticeship with master luthier Michael Sandén, he works completely independently and produces unique custom guitars, making all the parts himself. His instruments are distinguished by high-quality wood selection, personal tuning and a natural tonal balance, and are loved by guitarists looking for a refined sound and a sustainable playing experience.

The HO11 series represents the core of his philosophy: high-quality materials combined with timeless construction principles. The Grand Auditorium body shape with Florentine cutaway makes this guitar extremely versatile. The African Koa used for this guitar is a fascinating wood that, despite its name, is not related to the well-known Hawaiian Koa. The Swiss spruce top complements the Koa perfectly with its open, bright response and excellent projection.

The 12-fret neck construction brings the bridge closer to the center of the top, resulting in a warmer, fuller sound character.
