De Collings D1 is een van de vele Collings gitaren die het hart sneller doen kloppen. De 14-fret dreadnought is de meest populaire staalsnarige akoestische gitaar ter wereld, en terwijl Collings zeker niet het enige bedrijf in de wereld is die ze bouwen, brengen ze een nieuwe helderheid, diepte en warmte die meestal niet geassocieerd wordt met zo'n grote en diepe gitaar.
Hoewel de basrespons deze dreadnought perfect maakt voor vocale begeleiding zal een Collings dreadnought gegarandeerd zelfs de meest voorname bluegrass flatpicker tevreden stellen. De D1 beschikt over een mahonie klankkast met een Sitka sparren bovenblad, die ondersteund wordt door een scalloped X-bracing.Â
Deze D1 uit 2010 heeft zeker niet in een hoekje in de kamer stof staan vangen. Er is een LR Baggs Anthem pickup ingebouwd en hij is goed ingespeeld. Daarom heeft hij ook de gebruikelijke speelsporen en dings op de body en hals. Het bovenblad heeft ook een iets groter deukje, maar dat beïnvloed de speelbaarheid en klank van deze dreadnought zeker niet!

That's why it also has the usual playwear and dings on the body and neck. The top also has a somewhat larger ding, but that certainly does not affect the playability and sound of this dreadnought!
