Martin D18 1940
De D18 laat de machtige dreadnought zien in een van zijn meest gewilde en pure vormen met een mahonie klankkast en Adirondack sparren bovenblad. Dit is een D18 uit 1940 dus met scalloped bracing, tortoise binding en ebbenhouten toets.
In 2013 heeft deze gitaar een grondige renovatie gehad van David Musselwhite, waardoor hij nu in goede staat verkeert en een aangename speelbaarheid heeft. Tijdens dit onderhoud heeft hij onder andere een neckreset gehad, zijn de cracks aan de achterkant en zijkanten van de body gerepareerd en zijn de brug, stemmechanieken en slagplaat vervangen en heeft hij een volledige overspray gekregen.
Dit is, zoals je kunt verwachten, een groots klinkende gitaar met een kleurrijk en prachtig droog, vintage karakter met een houtige warme toon die je alleen vindt in een oude Martin.

During this maintenance it has gotten a neck reset, the cracks on the back and side of the body have been repaired, and the bridge, tuners, and pickguard have been replaced.
This is, as you would expect, a great sounding guitar with a colorful and beautifully dry, vintage character with a woody warm tone that you only find in an old Martin.
