Atkin dacht na over de legendarische soloartiesten die de afgelopen 60 jaar op podia over de hele wereld hebben gestaan met klassieke gitaarmodellen uit het Pre-War tijdperk om hun verhalen te vertellen. Atkin's standaard D37 model heeft al met veel van deze gedachten rekening gehouden, maar de D37 Pre-War tilt dat naar een hoger niveau.
Voortbordurend op de vintage gitaren uit het Pre-War tijdperk, heeft Atkin een V-vormige hals heringevoerd die in lijn is met de oorspronkelijke traditie. Hierdoor voelt en speelt de gitaar echt als die instrumenten. Gebakken AAA Adirondack bovenbladen passen er perfect bij en Madagaskar palissander is een geweldige vervanging voor Braziliaans palissander. De kleur en nerf van Madagaskisch palissander is net zo prachtig gebleken als het vermogen om de tonen van zijn Braziliaanse tegenhanger na te bootsen.

Atkin thought about the legendary solo artists who have stood on stages around the world for the last 60 years using classic guitars from the Pre-War era to tell their tales. Their standard D37 model has taken so many of these thoughts into account already, but the D37 Pre-War is taking that to the next level.
Drawing on the vintage guitars of the Pre-War era, Atkin have reintroduced a V-shaped neck which is in keeping with the original tradition. This really makes the guitar feel and play like those instruments. Baked AAA Adirondack tops are a perfect match, and Madagascan rosewood provides a great replacement for Brazilian rosewood. The colour and grain of Madagascan Rosewood has proven to be as wonderful as its ability to recreate the tones of its Brazilian counterpart.
Finish all of this off with details such as mother-of-pearl inlays and headstock logo inlay and Atkin's super thin aged nitro finish, and you have yourself a time-tested formula for success.
