Bourgeois J-OM Vintage Aged Tone Maple Carpathian Spruce
Meer dan dertig jaar geleden werd Dana Bourgeois door een grote Amerikaanse fabrikant in de arm genomen om een gitaar te ontwerpen met het formaat tussen de OM en Dreadnought in. Het resultaat, dat later de Jumbo OM werd genoemd, werd eind jaren tachtig als prototype getoond en op grote schaal tentoongesteld, hoewel het pas een paar jaar werd geproduceerd, tot de oprichting van Bourgeois Guitars.
De J-OM heeft een 25.5 inch mensuur en beschikt over het grootste bodyformaat in de reeks 0//00/000-OM/J-OM. De gitaar heeft hetzelfde profiel als een Grand Auditorium, maar heeft door de diepere klankkast de inhoud die een Dreadnought benadert. De J-OM beschikt hierdoor over voldoende dynamiek en volume om elk speel- en muziekstijl aan te kunnen.
Deze J-OM is vervaardigd uit een combinatie van schitterende materialen. Zo bestaat de klankkast uit prachtig getekend curly esdoorn, en is het bovenblad van strak generfd Carpathian sparren. De abalone toets-inleg met herringbone purfling maken de gitaar tot een stijlvolle verschijning.

The result, later christened the Jumbo OM, was prototyped and widely displayed in the late 1980s though not produced for a few years, until the founding of Bourgeois Guitars.
