Gibson L00 Sunburst 1939
De Gibson L00 werd geïntroduceerd in 1929, maar verscheen pas in de catalogus in 1932. Het L00 model was een groot succes tijdens de Grote Depressie dankzij het geringe prijskaartje en geweldige geluid.De L00 is een van de meest begeerlijke kleine akoestische gitaren van Gibson, en daarom ook een echte 'players' gitaar.
De L00 heeft de typische ingetogen Gibson kenmerken, zoals de mahonie klankkast, de sunburst sparren top en de fire strip slagplaat.Â
Hij is gemaakt in 1939, flink bespeelt sinds die tijd, en kan waarschijnlijke veel mooie verhalen vertellen over de kroegen en podia die hij heeft gezien. Deze Gibson is voorzien van een nieuwe laklaag. De top heeft een prachtige sunburst en de klankkast en hals hebben een transparante laklaag, waardoor de natuurlijke kleur van mahonie naar voren komt.
Deze Gibson L00 verkeert ondanks zijn littekens nog in goede staat. De achter- en zijkant van de klankkast hebben een paar gerepareerde cracks. De zijkant heeft ook een smalle patch in de buurt van de strap button en twee top braces zijn opnieuw gelijmd.
De hals heeft een reset en een refret gehad en draagt nog steeds de originele gestempelde Kluson 3-on-a-plate stemmechanieken. Van de eerste tot de vijfde fret zijn er enkele versleten plekjes in de toets ontstaan, maar deze zijn opgevuld.
Deze pre-war Gibson heeft een indrukwekkend laag, een rauw en rijk midden en een enigszins ingetogen hoog. Hij heeft die rauwe blues sound waar deze gitaren bekend om staan!

It was made in 1939, has been played a lot since then, and can probably tell many great stories about the pubs and venues it has seen. This Gibson has been refinished. The top has a beautiful sunburst and the body and neck have a transparent layer of lacquer, which brings out the natural color of mahogany.
This Gibson L00 is still in good condition despite its scars. The back and sides of the body have a few repaired cracks. The side also has a narrow patch near the strap button and two top braces have been re-glued.
The neck has been reset and refretted and still carries the original stamped Kluson 3-on-a-plate machine heads. There are some worn spots in the fingerboard from the first to the fifth fret, but these have been filled.
This pre-war Gibson has an impressive low end, a raw and rich mid and a somewhat subdued high. It has that raw blues sound these guitars are known for!
