Zijn carrière is, net als de man zelf, universeel geliefd en vereerd. En hoewel zijn innovatieve stemming en speelstijlen een belangrijk deel uitmaakten van zijn monsterlijke klanken, stond een zwaar gemodificeerde Gibson SG uit 1964 centraal in zijn muziek.
Epiphone is er trots op een gitaar uit te brengen gebaseerd op het iconische origineel dat talloze riffs lanceerde. De Epiphone Tony Iommi SG Special heeft een tweedelig mahoniehouten body, een gebonden mahoniehouten hals met een 'rounded' profiel, een Indiase laurier toets met 22 frets, een Graph Tech topkam, Grover Rotomatic stemmechanieken met 'contemporary style' knoppen en met chroom bedekte Epiphone PRO P-90 pickups die zijn aangesloten op CTS-potentiometers en Orange Drop-condensatoren.
