Na het aanvankelijke succes van de DG300 wilde Jorgenson de opties uitbreiden en een gitaar maken die de eigenschappen van het D-gatmodel en het ovale klankgatmodel combineerde en dit model werd de DG320.
Door het grote D-gat te verenigen met een 14 Fret op de body en een langere mensuur, ontstond een gitaar die meer kracht heeft dan een standaard D-gatmodel en meer volheid dan een standaard ovaalgatmodel. Dit zou ideaal zijn voor spelers die ritme en lead in gelijke hoeveelheden spelen, of een speler die een iets rondere klank wil dan een normale 14 Fret gypsygitaar.
After the initial success of the DG300 Jorgenson wanted to expand the options and create a guitar that combined the features of the D hole model and the oval hole model and this model became the DG320.
Marrying the large D hole with a 14 Fret to the body and longer scale created a guitar that has more cutting power than a standard D hole model and more fullness than a standard oval hole model.
