De Imperial Humbucker heeft hetzelfde luchtige hoog, gebalanceerde middengebied en het strakke laag als de originele klassieke PAF-pickups. Lollar verbeterde vervolgens het ontwerp om je een meer gebalanceerde frequentierespons te geven. Het hals element is heet genoeg om je versterker net te doen oversturen waardoor je door zachter of harder aan te slaan je sound kan controleren. De ongebalanceerde spoelen produceren een strak laag die de perfecte aanvulling is op het volle karakter van de pickup en dat er ook voor zorgt dat boventonen zich opstapelen met elke noot die gespeeld wordt. Het brug element klinkt iets voller. Gemaakt met Alnico 2-magneten die zijn gedemagnetiseerd tot specifieke niveaus die uniek zijn voor de hals positie.

The Imperial Humbucker captures the airy top end, balanced mid-range, tight lows, and complex overtones of the classic original PAF pickups. Lollar then improved on the design to give you a more balanced frequency response. The unbalanced coils produce a tight bottom end that complements the pickup's fullness and causes overtones to build after each note is played. The neck is hot enough to play on the edge of amp distortion, or you can adjust your picking pressure to achieve a cleaner or dirtier sound as desired. Made with Alnico 2 magnets that are degaussed to specific levels unique to the neck position.
