Het Santa Cruz D-model heeft een unieke 'tapered' bracing, gestemd om de middentonen en hoge tonen te versterken zonder het basvolume in gevaar te brengen. Deze intonatie geeft het D-model een meer gelijkmatige balans en een grotere veelzijdigheid dan traditioneel braced dreadnoughts.
Het dreadnought-model van Santa Cruz Guitar Company is zorgvuldig ontworpen om tegemoet te komen aan de behoefte van de moderne speler aan een verfijnde balans met meer substantie in het midden en hoog. Om deze kwaliteiten te leveren in de acceptabele body van dreadnought-formaat, was een zeer niet-traditionele aanpak vereist.
Met behulp van aloude lutherievaardigheden creëerde SCGC een Trojaans paard, bekend aan de buitenkant maar gevaarlijk aan de binnenkant. Het innovatieve D-model van SCGC blijft een steunpilaar van artiesten die akoestisch volume nodig hebben zonder de kwaliteit van hogere frequenties in gevaar te brengen.
Deze Santa Cruz D uit 2021 heeft lichte speelsporen op de klankkast en slagplaat, met daarnaast ook een kleine ding op het bovenblad. De gitaar is over het geheel genomen zeer schoon en verkeert nog in excellente conditie. De gitaar wordt met echtheidscertificaat geleverd in een koffer van Ameritage.
