De e614 is een supercardioïde condensatormicrofoon, ontworpen voor veeleisende instrumentopnamen en uitvoeringen die een extended frequentierespons, hoge SPL-verwerking, snelle transiënte respons en compact formaat vereisen.
Terwijl 'overhead miking' van een drumstel de eerste ontwerpprioriteit was, werkt de e614 ook uitzonderlijk goed op percussie-opstellingen en past hij comfortabel in strakke opstellingen. De e614 kan hoge SPL's aan en heeft een gemiddelde gevoeligheid, wat zorgt voor minder bleeding van andere instrumenten op het podium.
