Beard Trailhead E Squareneck Curly Maple

This Beard Trailhead E is a squareneck resonator unlike anything else in the Beard line. This first design collaboration between father and son, Paul and Ben Beard, is designed as a light, resonant instrument, ready for the road. Dressed in solid curly maple and built around Beard's own Vesper cone, it is a resonator that makes the perfect travel companion.

Beard Guitars, founded by Paul Beard, is one of the most respected names in the world of resonator guitars, and the Trailhead E shows exactly why. The Trailhead body is specifically braced for its acoustic contribution, so it sings on its own before you ever plug in.

What immediately sets this Trailhead E apart is the wood. Both the body and the neck are made from solid curly maple, finished in a warm tobacco that brings out every ripple in the figuring. The ebony fingerboard is dressed with matching curly maple slotted diamond inlays, a subtle detail that ties the whole instrument together. At its heart sits Beard's own Vesper cone and spider, while Gotoh 510 tuners round out a guitar that is beautifully built down to the smallest appointment.

Acoustically it is light and lively, right at home in bluegrass and americana. And thanks to the installed Fishman Nashville bridge pickup you can move seamlessly from campfire to gig, with a sound profile that delivers a growling bass-end, defined mids and brilliant highs the moment you plug in.

This instrument has been carefully inspected for originality, condition and playability, then set up to our Gold Standard by a luthier. We make sure it arrives in your hands exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.
