Del Langejans M6 Bearclaw Spruce Figured Mahogany 2005

This 2005 Del Langejans M6 is a handcrafted dreadnought that demonstrates what's possible when craftsmanship and passion meet. Delwyn "Del" Langejans was an American guitar maker from Holland, Michigan, who built over 1,200 handmade guitars from 1971 to 2012, including acoustic models, harp and double-neck guitars, and a limited number of electric guitars. His background in woodworking and electronics contributed to his meticulous working methods and innovative designs. His unique models, such as the "Dualette," are particularly prized for their rich tone and solid build quality. After retiring, Langejans focused on repair work, but his guitars remain beloved by players and collectors.

The M6 represents his vision of the modern dreadnought, using traditional construction methods like scalloped bracing to maximize the performance of the tonewoods used. It is precisely this dedication to quality and tradition that has earned Del Langejans his excellent reputation among guitarists. The bearclaw spruce top provides an open, clear projection with beautiful harmonics, while the figured mahogany back and sides add warmth and depth to the tonal spectrum.

The ebony bridge and fingerboard give the guitar a professional look, and the abalone purfling and rosette elevate the visuals. Besides some usual playwear on the body and top, this guitar is in excellent condition. It also has a small repair on the heel, a little scratch on the side of the body, and is has been covered in bubble wrap at some point, because some faint traces are visible on the top, but only under a certain angle of the light. These visual marks don't take anything away from the sound or playability of this dreadnought. This is a great opportunity to acquire an instrument from this now-retired builder!
