The Slovak brand Dowina was founded by Rastislav Pastorek, a luthier who trained at the renowned lutherie school in Cremona, the Italian town world-famous for its string instruments. That heritage can be heard and felt in every instrument Dowina builds. The Master Series represents the pinnacle of their range, where solid tonewoods and meticulous handcrafting are the standard.

This Grand Concert is built around a combination of solid Sitka spruce and solid wenge, a wood native to Central Africa. Wenge is known for its tight grain and high density, resulting in a clear and defined sound with remarkably good note separation. The ebony fingerboard and bridge, inlays, and wenge headstock overlay all show that no compromises were made in the finish. The built-in LR Baggs Anthem pickup also ensures that this guitar performs exceptionally well amplified.

This 2017 Dowina shows considerable signs of use. There are dings and scratches on the top, including some deeper marks above the rosette. Additional dings and play marks are present on the body and neck. The guitar is currently very playable, although the saddle has settled a bit low. The guitar is in very good condition. It comes with a case and a TFOA passport.
