This Eastman AR810CE is a full size 17 inch archtop with a Venetian cutaway, built around a solid spruce top and a hand carved solid maple back and sides. A Lollar Custom Wound Imperial humbucker in the neck position, gold hardware and an ebony tailpiece and pickguard make it a classic jazz guitar that is ready for the stage as well as the living room.
Eastman started out in 1992 as a workshop building violins, violas and cellos by hand, and that background in traditional carving is still at the heart of their archtops today. The AR810CE follows the recipe of the great American jazz boxes: a large hollow body with f holes and a single neck pickup. The result is an instrument with a rich acoustic voice that translates naturally into a warm, round amplified tone.
Played unplugged, the AR810CE has that dry, woody bark you want from a good archtop, with a quick response and chords that sit nicely together. Plug it in and the Lollar Imperial brings out a smooth, full jazz tone that keeps every note in a chord clearly defined, whether you are comping softly behind a singer or playing clean single note lines. The traditional even C neck feels familiar from the very first moment, and the gold hardware, ivoroid binding and Classic Truetone Gloss finish give it the elegant look of a proper jazz box. It comes with a hardshell case.
This guitar has been carefully inspected for condition and playability, then set up to our Gold Standard by a luthier. We make sure it arrives in your hands exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.
