The SB59 is named after the legendary year 1959, the year the Les Paul Standard took on its most sought-after form, and Eastman uses that reference as a starting point for an instrument with character and feel. The okoume body combined with the carved maple top gives the guitar a warm, slightly lighter tone than a full mahogany instrument, with sufficient body and sustain.
