A gold Stratocaster from 1982 is special in itself, but this Fender Gold Strat is even rarer thanks to its beautiful ash body and gold Schaller hardware. The combination of the resonant ash body and the iconic gold finish makes this not only a visual spectacle but also a guitar with a unique sound that stands out from the more common alder Stratocasters.

This gold Stratocaster was part of Fender's Collectors Series from the early 1980s and is one of the most striking guitars from the Dan Smith era. While many Fender models from that period still relied heavily on the more modern specifications of the 1970s, this series opted for a return to more vintage features. The smaller headstock shape and the traditional CBS logo give the guitar an authentic character that perfectly complements its timeless look.

The real highlight of this guitar is, of course, the stunning gold hardware, which is completely finished in 22-karat gold plating. From the Schaller tuners to the tremolo bridge, every part literally shines. This gold plating isn't just for show; it also provides excellent corrosion resistance and contributes to the guitar's sustain. The traditional truss rod adjustment at the neck heel, without the characteristic bullet construction, demonstrates the attention to detail and craftsmanship.

The ash body gives this Stratocaster a powerful, balanced tone with more body and punch than you'd expect from alder. Ash is known for its excellent sustain and clarity, allowing every note to shine through beautifully. Combined with the three single-coil pickups, this results in a versatile instrument that's equally at home with blues, rock, and pop. The V-shaped neck with its 7.25" radius offers that authentic vintage feel that Stratocaster enthusiasts love.

This 1982 Gold Stratocaster has accumulated some playwear here and there but still looks very neat. A nice detail is that the guitar comes with its original purchase receipt from 1982, which shows that the guitar was sold by Dirk Witte in Amsterdam on November 10th of that year. A true collector's item that's not only beautiful to look at but also plays and sounds fantastic!
