Meet the King of the Flat-tops in its most exclusive guise. This Gibson SJ-200, built to 1957 specifications as a TFOA 25th Anniversary edition, wears a breathtaking set of solid birdseye maple. We're proud to be the very first shop in Europe to receive this birdseye maple SJ-200.

Introduced in the late 1930s as Gibson's grandest flat-top, the SJ-200 earned its "King of the Flat-tops" nickname with its big, powerful tone and unmistakable jumbo presence, becoming the guitar of choice for countless stars and songwriters. The 1957 specification captures one of the model's most beloved eras, with a scalloped X-braced Sitka spruce top and elegant vintage appointments. To mark our 25th anniversary, Gibson included an 'Anniversary' truss rod cover, and traded the traditional maple for stunning back and sides of solid birdseye maple.

Everything here is made to catch both the eye and the ear. The birdseye maple back and sides show off that rare, shimmering figure across the full jumbo body, framed by cream binding and topped with an engraved tortoise pickguard. The flamed maple neck carries a rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl graduated crowns inlays and, of course, a stinger that complete that classic SJ-200 look.

Sonically, this is a guitar with real projection and authority. The maple back and sides give the SJ-200 its signature clear, focused and punchy tone, with generous volume and a tight low end that keeps every note defined. Exactly what you want from a jumbo built for strumming and singing. It's a big guitar with a big sound, yet it plays with surprising ease.

This instrument has been carefully inspected for originality, condition and playability, then set up to our Gold Standard by a luthier. We make sure it arrives in your hands exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.
