For decades, the 1959 Les Paul Standard has been regarded as the most celebrated electric guitar from Gibson's first Golden Age. The model is renowned for its unmistakable sound, expressive dynamics, and powerful stage presence. This Limited Edition 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue with Birdseye Maple Top, Light Aged, and Peach Tea Burst continues that legacy with an exceptional level of detail. Developed from years of experience with Made to Measure customization, the model is designed to approximate the feel and sound of a vintage Burst that has been played with love for decades.

The most striking detail is the exceptionally finely figured birdseye maple top, which was hand-selected by the Made to Measure team for its distinctive grain and unique character. Beneath the Peach Tea Burst finish, the three-dimensional structure of the wood comes to the fore beautifully, with the wavy grain appearing different depending on the angle of the light. The top is paired with a lightweight, one-piece mahogany body without weight relief. This construction ensures a resonant response and the characteristic midtones that made the 1959 Les Paul Standard so famous. The body is finished with Light Aged nitrocellulose lacquer, which has been carefully aged by the craftsmen at Murphy Lab to approximate decades of subtle wear. Light lacquer cracks, rounded edges, and a played-in feel give the guitar the character of a beloved original, without compromising on construction or playability.

The solid mahogany neck features the Authentic 1959 profile and connects to the body via a long tenon joint, contributing to sustain and a solid, familiar feel in the hand. The rosewood fingerboard features medium jumbo frets, single-ply binding, and cellulose trapezoid inlays, combined with the traditional 12-inch radius. The nylon nut and Kluson Deluxe tuners further contribute to the authentic play feel of a historic 1959 Les Paul.

The sound is provided by two Custombucker pickups with Alnico 4 magnets. The bridge pickup features Double Classic White bobbins and a nickel cover, while the pickup is uncovered and also features Double Classic White bobbins. The pickups deliver an open high end, rich dynamics, and a nuanced harmonic response that matches the sound of Gibson's late fifties. Two volume and two tone controls and a three-way switch offer the familiar versatility. Nickel hardware, an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, cream synthetic parts, gold Top Hat knobs, and a Stop Bar tailpiece complete the historically inspired look.
